The Community Writing Project Awards
Each year, PWR sponsors its annual Community Writing Project Awards.
Instructors who have taught CWP-designated sections of PWR 1 and/or PWR 2 courses within the previous three quarters are invited to submit the very best of their students’ community-based projects for judging.
Nominations may include CWP projects in all forms (written, multimedia, and/or spoken) that students produce either individually or in collaborative groups. Within each of two categories, one for PWR 1 and one for PWR 2, three prizes may be awarded: Winner, First Runner-Up, and Second Runner-Up. Student winners receive Community Writing Project Awards certificates and cash awards.
Student winners and nominees; their instructors; their community agency mentors; friends of PWR, the Community Writing Project, and students honored are invited in the awards ceremony at the end of the academic year.
