PWR Administrative Staff
The administrative staff of PWR works to promote a strong community
of teachers and writers. The staff is available to assist all
instructors with the full range of professional, pedagogical,
and practical issues.
The staff includes the Faculty Director Andrea A. Lunsford,
Professor of English; Associate Director and Assistant Vice Provost
for Undergraduate Education Marvin Diogenes; Academic Technology
Specialist Corinne Arráez; Academic Technology Associate
Marilenis Olivera; Assistant Director Alyssa O’Brien; Writing
Center Director Clyde Moneyhun; Writing Center Assistant Directors
Wendy Goldberg and John Tinker; Writing in the Major director
Claude Reichard; and Community Writing Project Coordinator Carolyn
Ross. Andrea, Marvin, and Alyssa work with instructors on designing
courses and assignments as well as on any issues related to pedagogy,
including grade complaints or disruptive students. Corinne and
Marilenis work with instructors to effectively integrate and
manage academic technology. Clyde , Wendy, and John coordinate
the activities of the Writing Center , while Carolyn works with
instructors to develop and improve sections with a CWP component.
The staff also includes Vani Kane,the Program
Manager, who oversees the program and its budget, human resources,
and facilities; Emily Phillips, the Student Services Specialist,
who coordinates all activities of the Writing Center (events,
workshops, and tutoring); Cristina C. Huerta, the Program Assistant,
who interacts daily with students, provides daily help and information
at the front desk, and assists with the program’s various
accounting functions; and Arthur Palmon, Course and Enrollment
Coordinator, who provides course and classroom support to instructors
and is available to all students during the registration period.
In addition, Laura David, the Human Resources Officer for the
VPUE, and Sean Bywaters, the Human Resources Associate, are available
to help PWR lecturers with a range of benefits and other human
