Enrolling in PWR

PWR Enrollment is handled through the PWR Office. You will not enroll yourself but please make sure to leave room in your schedule for the four units.

You will be notified when it is time to submit section preferences for your assigned quarter. Once notified, you will need to rank your top seven section preferences--the system won't allow you to submit less than seven choices. Section preferences are not accommodated on a first come, first served basis; all preferences submitted by the deadline are treated equally. Students can make changes to their section ranking as often as they'd like before the deadline.

You will be assigned to your highest ranked possible section by a computer algorithm. Keep in mind there are hundreds of students submitting preferences each quarter which means not everyone will get their top choice. If your assigned section does not work with a your schedule you can contact pwrcourses@stanford.edu to get a list of any sections that have space. If a section has space available and has not yet met twice in the first week, the PWR office will try to accommodate the change. Because enrollment is handled by the PWR Office, seat availability information showing on Axess/Explore Courses/Navigate is not accurate for PWR courses.  

Please note: once you have been assigned to a section, you may not request a quarter change.
